Abstract: In literary studies, the novel occupies a privileged position as a form that reflects and refracts the complexities of human life, society, and emotional experience. Novels transport readers across temporal, cultural, and psychological terrains, while simultaneously cultivating imagination and sharpening critical and analytical faculties. Situated within the framework of Reader–Response Criticism and employing a reflective, interpretive method, this article examines three major works in Konkani literature: Anjel (Anjel) by J. S. Alvares, Moga Mhaka Shikoy (Teach Me, Love) by V. J. P. Saldanha, and Haanv Jiyetham (I Am Alive) by Edwin J. F. D’Souza. The analysis focuses on the thematic concerns, narrative structures, stylistic features, and socio-cultural contexts of these novels, while foregrounding the unique contributions of their authors to the development of modern Konkani prose.
